  • Social Skills:  Developing emotionally, socially, cognitively and physically working with others cooperatively and independently, feeling at ease in the classroom, is sensitive to the feeling of others, asking for help, sharing, positive solutions, verbalizing feelings, taking turns, respectful of others property.
  • Oral Language: Helping your child make sense of the world around them by using their imagination and problem-solving abilities through Dramatic Play, using class vocabulary, asks and answering questions, engaging in conversation, singing songs and rhyming.  Your Jr. Kindergartner will confidently respond verbally when spoken to this in both French & English language.
  • Math & Science: Your two-year-old will learn math and science concepts and develop fine motor skills by stacking, sorting, counting, putting together and taking apart various objects, Identifying basic shapes, counting, and colors, and using time expressions such as past and future tenses.
  • Creative Expression: Through painting, sculpture or drawing, your child will learn eye-hand coordination, small muscle control and problem solving. Your Jr. kindergartner will have a joy for learning with sustaining interest in any chosen activity, will be able to focus on listening to another child or an adult speak and will be able to listen and follow directions.
  • World Discovery: Sensory experiences will provide your child with emotional outlets as well as a beginning knowledge of math and science concepts, recognizing and naming weather, knowledge of body and is conscious of its growth. In Jr. Kindergarten we will also work on the concept of time learning about today, tomorrow and yesterday.
  • Book & Storytelling: Exploring books and stories promotes a life-long love of literature and language.
  • Fine Motor Skills:  Your Jr. Kindergartner will discover the fun of school and all the while working on the important skills to propel them towards being Kindergarten ready. With work on the use of crayons and markers, using scissor, cutting and tearing tissue paper, drawing freely, manipulating beads, drawing human figures, working with playdough and puzzles, your child will be grasping the skills needed.
  •  Large Motor Skills:  Your child will learn the confidence of participating in organized physical activities such as dance, soccer and baseball through the extracurricular activities that are provided.  While learning to control their body through running, jumping, climbing, throwing, pushing, pulling, your preschooler will dare to take risks and become a confident child ready to try new things and express themselves through mime, dance and movement.
